Fuel surcharge on electricity bills from today |

The following will be the fuel surcharge on electricity bills from today for domestic users, 1-30 Units – 25 per cent, 31-60 Units – 35 per cent, above 61 Units – 40 per cent, while it will be 15 per cent for the industrial sector, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka stated today. |

The main All Share Price Index (ASI) of the Colombo bourse slipped below the 5,000 point mark during intra-day trading a while ago, with the market dipping over four per cent.

The Sri lankan rupee hit an all time low falling down to 120.10 SLR a Dollar today. The dip was due to the non interference of the Central Bank in the exchange rate. |

The Price of a litre of Diesel has been increased by 31 rupees with effect from midnight today. The price of a litre of Petrol has been increased by 12 rupees and Kerosene by 35 rupees with effect from midnight today the CPC said. LIOC have also decided to increase the price of Petrol and Diesel to correspond with the CPC hike. |

Colombo. 01 February 2012. Continuing its growth momentum into the 3rd quarter of FY2011/12, Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB) recorded exceptional all-round financial performance. The nine months profit-after-tax figure of Rs. 398 Mn as per the interim results released to the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) reflects a growth of 28% compared to the corresponding previous period.
