Dr. Nevil Gunawadene has been appointed as the new Director General of the Sri Lanka Customs Department, filling the vacancy left by Sudarma Karunatane, who was appointed Secretary to the Ministry of Plantation Industries.

The former Director General of the Finance Ministry’s Department of Trade, Tariff and Investment Policy, Dr. Gunawadene was appointed as head of Customs according to a Cabinet decision.
